💛 What could be possible if we looked at community differently?

Last year, participants described the Inclusion Seekers Course as inspiring, eye-opening, energising, creative and lifegiving.

They discovered new ways to think about community inclusion, the importance of recognising people’s gifts, and how small steps can create meaningful connections and belonging.

Now, Belonging Matters and Imagine More, together with Starfire, Cincinnati, are bringing the four-session course back!

Being in the community isn’t the same as belonging. 💛

Genuine belonging happens when people are known, valued and connected — when their gifts are recognised and they have meaningful roles and relationships in the places around them.

But how do we help create those opportunities?

Belonging Matters and Imagine More are excited to bring back the Inclusion Seekers Course, presented by Inclusion Seekers Starfire, Cincinnati.

The Inclusion Seekers Course explores practical ways to move beyond simply being present in community and towards building genuine, lasting connections.

Across four online sessions, you’ll explore how to uncover individual and community gifts, find opportunities for connection and intentionally create experiences where everyone can contribute and belong.

The course is designed for people with intellectual disability and autism, their families and supporters, with others interested in authentic inclusion also welcome.

Join us for a four-session online course for a deeper learning about how to create genuine opportunities for people with disability to truly belong.

What if inclusion isn’t about creating more programs – but creating more possibilities in ordinary community life? 🌱

For Bridget and Tim Vogt from Inclusion Seekers Starfire, years of working alongside people with disability and their families led to an important shift: away from segregated programs and towards helping people build genuine relationships, valued roles and stronger connections in their own communities.

That thinking helped inspire Inclusion Seekers – and Bridget and Tim will be joining us as hosts for our upcoming Introduction Session.

📸 What can happen when someone’s passion becomes a starting point for community connection?

One Inclusion Seeker had an idea involving photography, some favourite local places – and an invitation for other amateur photographers in her community to get involved.

What happened next grew into something much bigger. 💚

Her story is just one glimpse of what can become possible when we start with people’s passions, gifts and community.

☕Sometimes belonging starts with something as simple as a cup of coffee with your neighbours.

This year, Dee brought her neighbours together for a Biggest Morning Tea at a local cafe, raising money for the Cancer Council.

But it was much more than coffee and cake.

Dee took the lead as host, welcoming neighbours and contributing to her own community. People had a natural reason to meet, say hello and be part of something meaningful together - while also raising money for a good cause.

And importantly, it created a starting point for connections that could continue long after the last coffee was poured.
