✋All in for National Reconciliation Week 2026✋

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, and it will not happen without all of us.

It is a journey all Australians can take together, to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights every day.

How are we doing this at headspace Hawthorn and AccessHC?
⚫ Partnering as a health provider for students at Melbourne Indigenous Transition School in Richmond.
🟡 Committing to actively advancing reconciliation as part of our next Reconciliation Action Plan, and creating an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, valued, and respected.
🔴 Undergoing a truth telling process about our history, as guided by the Yoorrook Justice Commission.

National Reconciliation Week and beyond, we honour the cultures, stories, and histories of First Nations peoples. We also look forward to a future of continued healing and better connection.

Today is National Sorry Day. A day to acknowledge and honour the strength, resilience and ongoing journeys of Stolen Generation survivors, their families and communities. We also recognise the lasting impacts of forced child removal and the ways these continue to affect First Nations children, young people, families and communities today.

At headspace, we believe every First Nations young person has the right to access culturally safe, inclusive and healing-centred support.

If today brings up difficult feelings, support is available. Visit the link in our bio to explore support options.🖤💛❤️

Today, we’re standing with LGBTIQA+ young people for IDAHOBIT, the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism and Transphobia. 🌈

New findings from the headspace National Youth Mental Health Survey found LGBTIQA+ young people are experiencing higher levels of loneliness compared to all young people. This highlights the impact discrimination, exclusion and lack of acceptance can have on young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The survey also found that LGBTIQA+ young people are leading the way in accessing professional mental health support, reflecting the strength of community, connection and safe, affirming spaces.

Swipe through to hear from some of our headspace staff and youth advisors on the importance of feeling safe and supported for who you are.

For more information and support, check out the resources from our friends at or visit the IDAHOBIT website to learn how you can get involved.

🏳️‍🌈 Happy IDAHOBIT Day! 🏳️‍🌈

This Sunday 17th May is the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination (IDAHOBIT). IDAHOBIT reminds us to stand up to LGBTQIA+ discrimination and champion inclusivity in our communities.

We celebrated a bit early this year by wearing a pop of colour and sharing a morning tea together 🧁
