It acts as custodian of Box Cottage Museum and an eclectic collection of artefacts.

The City of Moorabbin Historical Society (CMHS), is a small not for profit organisation devoted to preserving the history and heritage of the former City of Moorabbin.

BOX COTTAGE MUSEUM
Opening Hours:
The museum is open on the last Sunday of each month, from 2-4pm – not open on public holidays. The museum is closed in December and January each year.
Visit the museum at other times can be arrange, contact us to organise a time to suit your needs.

Did you know that there was a Primary School in Centre Road where the United Petrol Station is?
It was called Brighton East (1878-1911), Bentleigh (1911-1936) and then Bentleigh East.
In 1993 the school was closed due to low enrollments and the building was demolished and land sold.
