It is at the monthly luncheons we are sometimes reminded of how esteemed our Old Paradian community is.

It was a full house yesterday to hear from Brendan Money (1976), who has recently retired after holding several leadership positions within Corrections Victoria, sentence management, offender management services and the Major Offenders Unit. Andy Walsh (1971), former Executive Director of the Victorian Youth Foundation and Phillip Priest (1973), recently retired Victorian Supreme Court Judge.

The presentation and questions from the floor sparked lively conversation that could have continued long after the conclusion of the lunch. We are so fortunate to hear from these men and have them share their educated opinions and experiences.

It was a fantastic turnout with 60 classmates and former teachers; the room was buzzing with conversation and laughter!

Four days later, and we are still pinching ourselves that the Old Paradians Football Club are the 2026 NFNL Division 2 Premiers! 🎉

Last Saturday, the ‘Raiders’ faced St Marys Football Club in a highly anticipated Division 2 Grand Final and produced a stunning performance to secure a 42-point victory. After a closely contested opening three quarters, the Raiders saved their best until last, producing an outstanding final term in which they kicked eight unanswered goals to run away with the premiership.

It was fantastic to see so many of the Old Paradian community join the large contingent of Purple, Green and Blue supporters who turned out in force to cheer the team on. The incredible support from the Old Paradians community helped create a wonderful atmosphere and was a fitting reflection of the strong connection between the OPA and the Football Club.

Congratulations to the players, coaches, volunteers and supporters of the Old Paradians Football Club on a wonderful 2026 season and a well-deserved premiership.

Well done, Raiders!
