*The impact of self-esteem on a person's quality
of life
*Evolve and act
Having high self-esteem allows people to have positive interactions with others. People with high
self-esteem work toward pursuing their goals. However, people with low self-esteem cannot push
themselves to their limits.
They do not have the necessary confidence and do not live their lives to the fullest because they feel
they do not deserve anything worthwhile. These people then find themselves in a vicious cycle and
often don't act because they are afraid of failure.
* Better social relations
People instinctively seek out others who have a level of self-esteem similar to their own. If both
People have high self-esteem, the relationship is more likely to have positive relationships, and they are likely to
encourage each other and lift each other up.
One person may feel "pulled down" by the other in a negative relationship. For example, a person
with low self-esteem may tolerate abuse, which inevitably leads to an even further drop in self-
esteem.
*Self-esteem and love
Self-esteem also influences romantic relationships. It is hard to believe a person loves you when you
negatively perceive yourself. People may even push away someone who shows them love or affection
as a defense mechanism. In their eyes, they do not deserve this person, so this is the only way they
know how to react.
Because of this behavior, the person will often attract people whose love is difficult, if not impossible,
to win. But this inevitably leads them to fail in their relationships and further lowers their self-esteem.
*Self-confidence
Now that we have talked about self-esteem, we can focus on self-confidence, which is "a feeling of
trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgments."
Self-confidence always results from the accumulation of past experiences. Confidence, like self-
esteem, is random and brief, and it applies to a particular event at a specific time.
We will cover below five essential concepts that will help you understand self-confidence. By
understanding them, you can influence the confidence of your future.
*Prediction
Self-confidence involves the ability to make positive predictions regarding one’s future.
Obviously, no one can ever be 100 percent certain about a future outcome, but this doesn't negate
the fact that confident people believe that their future will turn out in the way they desire.
*Realistic
Contrary to popular belief, trust is not "blind." If it was, it could lead to failure and even be dangerous.
Genuine trust is realistic because it is based on a person's past experiences.
*Sufficient resources
In some instances, a person may have confidence that they can succeed in a new venture because
they know they have the resources needed to be successful in it. Of course, they cannot be 100
percent sure that they will achieve their goals, but they know that they have the tools and can do
everything in their power to get there.
