Nominations are now officially closed. Now comes the huge job of turning people’s hopes into help. 🧡🖤
This photo takes us back to 2024, when we were lucky enough to have Johanna Griggs and Better Homes and Gardens cover one of our Free Trade Day jobs.
With less than four weeks until 6 November, our goal is simple: get as many tradies as possible helping people who really need it, and change as many lives as we can across the Central Coast.
Here’s how it works: people nominate someone doing it tough, we match their needs with trade businesses willing to donate their skills and time, and we raise money for the materials to make those jobs happen.
**Over 150 trade businesses have already put their hands up.** These tradies are the backbone of Free Trade Day. A repair they can knock over in a few hours might be something a family has lived without for years — and getting it fixed can restore safety, independence and dignity.
Helping us make that possible are our incredible partners, including Harris Farm, Challenger Logistics, The Leasing Network, Walker Brothers Timber and Building Supplies, JC Entertainment, Gibson Scrap, Batemans Bay Hotel, St George Bank Tuggerah, John R. Turks, ANL, Express Timber Solutions, Central Coast Tile and Stone Warehouse, Brian Hilton North Gosford, Local Search, Triple M and Husqvarna. 🙌
But the biggest shout-out goes to the volunteers putting all of this together in their own time.
Behind every job are phone calls, hard decisions, materials to organise and people determined to make it happen.
What you see is amazing. Behind the scenes, it doesn’t always go smoothly. Sometimes plans fall through. But for every disappointment, there are so many people who turn up, follow through and remind us how much good this community can do.
We can’t promise to fix everything. We’re giving everything we’ve got to help as many people as possible.
That’s Free Trade Day. The Business of Kindness.
