Little Red Forest Treehouse

Little Red Forest Treehouse This page was formerly known as "Little Red Toolangi Treehouse". We are here raise the profile of old growth forests.

Mission Statement “To raise awareness, educate and empower the public to respond to the commercial destruction of Australia's native forests." So often, when our hearts are empassioned about a cause, about something unjust, we find very few ways to act on our desire to help/care/protect. The Little Red Toolangi Treehouse is born from this sentiment; to iconically & tangibly represent what is poss

iible in the safe-keeping of our precious forest. Emblazened in fire-engine red & suspended at large, the Treehouse is effectively standing sentinel as well as raising awareness. The Treehouse was carefully positioned in an area of Mountain Ash forest which is proposed to be logged. This is also the habitat of Victoria's state emblem, the delicate & adorable Leadbeater's Possum, who requires the old growth of the Mountain Ash to nest. There are so many ways to become involved in this campaign & we intend to invite you to be an integral part of how this magnificent & crucial forests' safety will be secured. Please message us if you would like to visit the Little Red Treehouse and experience the area or become involved in the campaign. As we function to raise awareness, educate and pressure the appropriate bodies to save this patch of globally significant old growth Mountain Ash forest, we encourage you to spread the word far and wide, invite people to be a part of it and bring your fiends into the forest for a camping trip with a real difference, by making a REAL difference. Did you know? So, tell me why aren't we doing everything we can to conserve habitat in Australia for our iconic Koala friends?

Yes, it's meaningful to make a fuss about orangutang habitat. What's even more meaningful is that koala habitat directly impacts you also : your air quality, your water security, your carbon neutral future, your recreation and BREATHING spaces. And of course, in case you care about the creature themselves, our ongoing ability to steward this land we've taken from First Nation people so our koalas can be appreciated as an iconic watershed species.
As the bundles of inspiration that they are.
Here is our challenge:
Engage yourself with one forest related issue today.
Stick to it.
Because, honestly, the unions and governments do not care about environmental well-being.
It's our duty to make them.
For almost 7 years we have informed the public about issues facing our forest.
Please support our work by buying a water bottle or t-shirt or some sexy fungi socks here:

Have you caught the news on the fresh forest wind?
We have a strong chance to create a new national park for Victoria!
And all that needs to happen is that you pop on over to the below survey site and tell them how you'd like to see the forest used.

There are 4 main ways to engage and contribute to the Central Highlands state forest conversation:

- Start by reading all the information on the linked page

- Drop a pin on the map and share why this is location is important to you

- Complete the online feedback form

- Engaging with the Panel at local community sessions (check the website for dates :) )

Let us know how you go with this process and if you have any trouble.

A significant interview, ten years on. Fuel reduction burning just doesn't have enough of the science behind it and has failed more often than succeeding. Entire areas of biodiversity have been marred, often irrevocably due to repetition.
The petition is worthwhile.

Cam lives in Strathewen. His property and the surrounding bush are recovering from the Black Saturday bushfires. The government is planning extensive prescribed burns nearby over the next 3 years. Find out why doesn't Cam want to see this happen. https://vimeo.com/883899170

This principle, so simple and yet so not practiced...

"When man continues to destroy nature, he saws the very branch on which he sits since the rational protection of nature is at the same time the protection of mankind"

Never forget Daniel Andrews , this is what you've done to our forests during your tenure.
Mountain Ash, reduced to devastation.
Our future deserves more care than this.
