Inclusive mentoring helps build confidence and self-advocacy.

When participants feel heard and respected, they are more empowered to share their goals and take steps toward the future they want.

Saying goodbye to a pet is one of the hardest things we go through.

We’re so grateful to for stepping in with compassion and urgency when it mattered most, ensuring Sophie could give B the peaceful, dignified farewell he deserved.
Because for so many people, pets aren’t “just animals” — they’re family, support, and unconditional love through everything 🤍

Feedback like this reminds us why safe, supportive and community-led spaces matter.

Every day, Women and Mentoring walks alongside women and gender-diverse people as they rebuild confidence, connection and hope for the future. 💜

Inclusive mentoring starts with feeling safe to be yourself.

Mentors help create respectful, supportive spaces where women and gender diverse mentees can build confidence, trust and connection. Small actions make a big difference.

Inclusion strengthens mentoring relationships and outcomes for everyone.

The impacts of incarceration don’t end at release.

For many women, prison can mean losing housing, employment, connection and custody of children, creating barriers that continue long after a sentence ends.

Support, not stigma, changes lives. 💜

Last week we celebrated Volunteer Week and the incredible people who make WAM what it is 💜

To every volunteer mentor supporting our mentees, thank you. Your time, care and commitment are at the heart of our program and we truly could not do this without you.

We’ve loved connecting with so many of you this year through movie nights, social media filming, website videos, mentor training and volunteer expos across Victoria in Ballarat, Geelong, Wyndham and Pakenham.

A huge welcome as well to all of our new mentors who have joined the WAM community this year. We’re so excited to have you with us!

Now we can’t wait to formally celebrate all of our volunteers later this week with a night of food, drinks, laughs and awards ✨
