Go into the village in front of you!
Luke 19:30
Notice how Jesus did not say “Go back to the village you came from, Bethany” or “Go back to the village we passed hours ago”. Jesus says, "Go into the village in front of you".
Do you know how many villages they passed in those 3 and 1/2 years?
How many donkeys they must have seen?
But Jesus does not tell them to go back, he tells them to go forward!
Here's a word for many of us- you may believe you lost your chance, your breakthrough somewhere in the past.
You may even be tempted to go back and find what you are looking for;
back to the old relationship looking for love, back to the old job looking for employment, back to the old crowd looking for acceptance but here is the word;
Go into the village in front of you.
What you need is not behind you, what you need is in front of you.
Here is God’s word; “What I need from you is not behind you. What I need from you is in front of you!”
Don't look back, look forward!
Lot's wife looked back and turned into salt.
The Hebrew children looked back and stayed wandering in the desert.
Declare today "I'm not looking back, I'm going to the village in front of me. My calling; my purpose, is waiting in front of me!"
This is what the bible says about what you left behind:
Isaiah 43:18 -"Forget all that-it is nothing compared to what I am going to do".
