Achievement!
This month, our Sea Shepherd Australia - Marine Debris Campaign team returned to Cocos Keeling Islands for their annual clean-up campaign.
Our crew removed a staggering 8.2 tonnes of trash from the island in just two weeks. Of this, 5.6 tonnes of trash removed light-weight single-use plastic items. Considering the weight of these items individually, the accumulative weight is horrifying.
Removing this trash gives marine life a reprieve. Every piece removed is a piece that wonโt harm marine life. ๐ ๐ฌ๐ฆ

๐ฅณ Sea Shepherd Australia Marine Debris Campaign has hit an incredible milestone - 1000 community clean-ups!
Since the campaignโs inception in 2016, our Marine Debris teams have conducted over 1000 community clean-ups, from the white-sand beaches of Exmouth to the windswept coastline of southern Tasmania!
This huge milestone would not have been possible without a crew of incredible volunteers and members of the public. Thank you! ๐
