When Ravin first connected with Kowanj, she was looking for suitable employment but wasn’t sure where to begin. With practical guidance, encouragement and support throughout the process, she was able to take the next step with greater confidence.

As part of Kowanj’s Empowering Employment Pathways Program, some of our participants recently attended an information session with Comfort Care Group.

The session gave participants the opportunity to learn more about employment pathways in home care, disability support and community services, while connecting directly with an organisation working in the sector.

Through the Empowering Employment Pathways Program, Kowanj supports participants to build confidence, strengthen their employability and access practical opportunities that can lead to meaningful and sustainable employment.

Celebrating Culture, Community & Our Young People

Looking back at Africa Night in June, we’re proud to share some special moments from an evening that brought our community together to celebrate African culture while raising funds for Kowanj’s Youth Program.

The Youth Program provides practical support to young people and families, helping remove barriers to participation and opportunity. This includes support with sports participation, uniforms, equipment and other essential needs that allow young people to stay engaged, connected and involved in their communities.

Africa Night brought together young people, families, performers, community members and supporters through music, food, culture and celebration, while raising funds to help continue this important work.

Every contribution helps Kowanj create more opportunities for young people to participate, build confidence, develop their talents and feel supported in reaching their potential.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, donated and supported Africa Night.
