🌟 On October 6, Argyle Square turned into a gateway to Indonesia at Festival Indonesia 2024 🇮🇩!

The event was a celebration of Indonesia’s rich culture and traditions:
✨ Spectacular traditional dance performances
🍲 Cooking demos by Chef Tati and Chef Charles Toto (inspiring and delicious!)
🛍️ Stalls brimming with Indonesian food, handicrafts, and unique products
🎉 And a vibrant flashmob that brought everyone together!

It was an unforgettable day filled with joy, learning, and connection. A heartfelt terima kasih to all who joined us. Can’t wait to celebrate again next year!

🌟 RECAP: Festival Indonesia Goes to School 2024 🌟

From October 8–11, FI GS brought the Colourful Culture of Eastern Indonesia to schools across Victoria! 🇮🇩🎉

✨ Highlights from the festival:
🎭 Traditional music, dances, and stories by talented artists from eastern Indonesia, including Nogei and Sampari and rapper President Tidore.
🌏 A presentation on Papuan biodiversity and quizzes celebrating Indonesia’s cultural diversity!
💃 Special Golek Manis and Serampang Dua Belas dance performances, representing Central Java and West Sumatra.

We had the joy of introducing Indonesia’s vibrant culture to over 500 students from Grades 6–9 at:
🏫 Catholic Ladies College
🏫 St. Lawrence Primary School
🏫 Crusoe College
🏫 Christian College

The enthusiasm was incredible, and we can’t wait to bring the festival back to these amazing schools! 🌺✨

🌟 It’s hard to believe it’s already been a month since Indonesian Night lit up on Oct 4th 2024 with its vibrant celebration of Eastern Indonesian culture! 🎉

The memories of stunning musical drama performances, traditional dances, and the infectious rhythm of lively Indonesian music are still fresh in our hearts 💃✨

From Nogei’s soulful melodies to Presiden Tidore’s electrifying beats, the beautiful harmonies of Maluku Basudara, and the captivating dance by Widya Luvtari, it was an unforgettable evening.

The energy in the room, the laughter, and the joy of seeing everyone dancing and singing along—it was a night that showcased the magic of our culture and brought people together 🌏❤️

Thank you to all the incredible performers and everyone who joined us. Your support made this event truly special! Let’s carry this spirit of celebration and cultural pride forward as we look ahead to next year. 🎊
