UN Women Australia announces the “BALANCE THE SCALES” as the 2026 theme for International Women’s Month highlighting the urgent need to ensure fair, inclusive, and accessible justice for every woman and girls.

In the lead up to International Women's Day, we’ll be honouring inspirational women and promising ladies in our community. Watch out also for the presentation of gorgeous Queens of the Flores de Mayo 2026!

Join us on March 22, 2026, Sunday, 1:00-5:00 pm at Clayton RSL and have a buffet luncheon while enjoying the live music by the versatile Roxx mix Duo. Hear interesting stories, and every women’s triumphs, be uplifted with the keynote speaker’s stand in the fight for equality, beauty and more!

BALANCE THE SCALES where everyone belongs is a promise for every woman and girl to be safe, heard, and free to shape her own future.

Our second day of Novena in preparation for the Flores de Mayo will be held at Felicity Sweeney’s lovely home located at 29 Acqua Drive, Clyde
Sunday, 11 January at 3:00 pm.

We’ll have halo halo upon arrival! All Reina, Hermana Mayor and our friends are most welcome to join us. You may bring some snacks to share with everyone after the rosary.

As we’ve gathered for the initial Novena to our Virgin Mary in preparation for the Flores de Mayo, we unite our hearts and minds in common purpose. May we be granted with wisdom to work together effectively and the humility to value each person's perspective. May our discussions and decision be spiritually guided, to honor our Virgin Mother and serve our shared goals: to foster spiritual growth and strengthen individuals and families, establish unity and faith to our wider community through shared devotion and respect to one another.

Spring is a season of transformation—it symbolizes rejuvenation, new life, new beginnings and endless opportunities. It’s the time of year when nature begins to bloom and everyone feels inspired and energized ☀️ Springtime is when the Flores de Mayo Committee blooms with hope and new ideas!

Thank you so much once again to many wonderful guests headed by Dandenong Councillor Alice Phuong Le, all generous sponsors and donors, special dance number participants, singing sensation Yza Santos, our Masters of Ceremony, Tito Roy Carbungco & Miss Jazmine Flores, who have made FDMVI Christmas in Hawaii at Sandown Park Hotel a very happy and successful event last Saturday. We have celebrated like one big happy family with many smiling faces, colourful outfits, gifts for the lucky winners and jolly spirit that warmed everyone’s hearts 💝

Salute to all hardworking Flores de Mayo Victoria Committee members who have dedicated their time and effort in delivering a fantastic outcome most especially to superstars Liza, Maria, Juliet, Nelia, Rosemarie, Suzette, Nery and all those who worked tirelessly behind the scene. You've made a significant impact, and your contributions are truly appreciated.

It was only a month ago since many responsible leaders and volunteers have banded together for this initial fundraising project, and the newly organized group have proven once again that the Filipino and other multicultural communities could be united for a very good cause 🌸
