It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Dr. Tim Reid , our long-time Member for Brunswick and a wonderful friend and supporter of Holden Street Neighbourhood House.
We were incredibly lucky to have Tim in our corner. He understood the importance of Neighbourhood Houses and the vital role they play in bringing people together, supporting communities and making sure everyone has a place to belong. He was always generous with his time and genuinely interested in the people and work that make our community what it is.
We loved having Tim join us over the years at our many community gatherings- from Trivia Nights and morning teas to AGMs and so many other occasions. He brought warmth, humour and a real sense of connection wherever he went.
Tim dedicated his life to improving the lives of others, through his work as a doctor and researcher and through his advocacy for public health, the environment and a fairer, more compassionate community. He leaves behind an incredible legacy of care, integrity and service.
Our deepest condolences go to Tim’s family, friends, colleagues and the wider local community, who we know will be feeling the loss of such a bright light.
We feel very fortunate to have known him, worked alongside him and called him a friend of the House.
