REMINDER! SCEC x MUMPS Journal Club is NEXT WEEK 🥳
MUMPS is excited to be collaborating with the Student Clinical Ethics Committee (SCEC) on a journal club discussing RCH's John Massie's seminal work on Deciding with Children! 📚✨ It is a quick, but deeply insightful, 7-page read that is accessible to those with no prior ethics education.
📄 Read the paper here: https://unimelbcloud.sharepoint.com/.../IQBH20p62ESMQbjQI...
💬 Questions to consider while reading:
- Is the ethical approach articulated similar or different from what you have seen during clinical placement? If you have not completed a Paediatrics rotation yet, what do you predict might make consultations with children difficult or easy?
- Has reading the paper shifted how you practice, or intend to practice, within paediatrics?
- What barriers exist between application of the ethical ideal and real-world care?
📅 Journal Club: May 18th at 6PM

We highly encourage participation as the primary author, Prof John Massie, will be presenting at MDSC2026 on Day 2 during the Paediatric Bioethics session.
During this banquet-style, interactive symposia, students will have the opportunity to further their knowledge through application to a clinical case with guided discussion. Meet the author and ask your questions! 📖🎤
