It's officially Love Your Bookshop Day! 🥳

We've been overjoyed to see so many people share their love for bookshops and bookseller recommendations over the past few weeks and are so excited to see you heading into local bookshops today!

Whether you're going in with a wishlist, a peruse before brunch, heading in for a special LYBD event, are hoping to win a giveaway, or to simply have a conversation with a bookseller – thank you for supporting and celebrating bookshops.

We'll be here all day, sharing bookshop events and activities. Tag us ( and ) and the bookshops you visit in your posts and use so we can keep celebrating LYBD, long after bookshop opening hours.

It's time to ask a bookseller and shake up your shelf 📚️

It's the night before Love Your Bookshop Day and we're not sure how we'll sleep! 🤭

The excitement is brewing and it's time to share a final exciting treat.

Not only is Bill Hope our incredible artist for the LYBD artwork campaign, but he is also the illustrator of the ‘You & Me’ series, written by Andy Griffiths.

For he has created a special one-of-a-kind print with your favourite characters from the You & Me series. This prize will be given to ONE lucky winner who enters the Kids' Colouring Competition, with thanks to Pan Macmillan Australia.

You can see a sneak preview of the print in this post! 👀

Head to your local bookshop to pick up a copy of the LYBD2026 Kids’ Colouring Competition, get creative with it, and you could win.

The colouring comp entry sheet is also available to download from the LYB website, here: loveyourbookshop.org.au/competitions/love-your-bookshop-day-competitions/

Don't forget to enter the Kids’ Colouring Competition! 🎨

We’re inviting young readers to get creative by colouring in Bill Hope’s bookish scenes, then using the blank space to draw their very own perfect bookshop. It could have towering shelves, cosy reading corners, books floating through the air, a resident bookshop dragon or something completely unexpected. The sky (and above!) is the limit!

Winners will receive a $100 LYB Gift Card to use in their local bookshops!

Head to the LYB website to download and print the LYBD2026 Colouring Competition sheet and pass it along to the young creative in your life.

You can enter by sharing a completed artwork on socials using or by emailing it to [email protected].

Entries for all three age categories (0-5, 6-8 and 9-12) close on 17 October 2026. We can't wait to see your creations!
