After a day spent celebrating Q***r joy, we are shocked and saddened to wake to the news of the tragic incident at Berlin Pride today.
Our love and thoughts are with the people affected, those who have died and been injured, and their loved ones.
Incidents like this remind us why safety, visibility, and solidarity can never be taken for granted.

Pride is supposed to be a place where people can celebrate who they are, surrounded by love, acceptance and community.
No one should ever have to fear violence, simply for existing.

Moments such as this, remind us why Pride still matters. We can’t allow hatred to drown out compassion, visibility and hope.

Stand together. Look after each other.
Choose kindness over hate.
Hold each other close.
Do not let fear have the final word 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Twelve years ago today, on 17 July 2014, 298 people on flight MH17 were killed when their plane was shot down over Eastern Ukraine en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur.
Among those killed were six colleagues, on their way to the 20th International AIDS Conference in Melbourne.
Today we pay tribute to everyone on that flight and in particular;- Pim de Kuijer, Joep Lange, Lucie van Mens, Martine de Schutter, Glenn Raymond Thomas, Jacqueline van Tongeren. May their lives continue to inspire our hearts and our actions.

43 years ago (12 July 1983) a meeting was held in The Laird Dining Room. The room was small but packed to the rafters with people who wanted to do something about a strange new disease that was beginning to be seen by some GP's in Melbourne. The meeting established the "Victorian AIDS Action Committee" and started work which continues to this day as Thorne Harbour Health.

Small group today for Friday Lunch. Another pub meal as we’re still waiting for our new venue to be ready for us to move into.
The $16 lunch special at The Workers Club in Fitzroy is well within our budget and Mel is enjoying a break from all the cooking!

Have a great weekend, go Socceroos! 💚💛

Take care out there.
“Death and serious harms from he**in overdose have occurred after use of co***ne and methamphetamine in Victoria.

He**in is an opioid and small amounts can cause life-threatening overdose, especially in people who have never used opioids or only use them occasionally.

Signs of opioid overdose include breathing slowly and reduced consciousness (meaning someone is hard to wake up). In some cases, they may also have tiny pupils.

Naloxone is an easy-to-use medication that can reverse opioid overdose – it is safe to use even if you are not sure whether someone has taken opioids. Naloxone can be accessed free of charge at participating pharmacies, needle and syringe programs, Mental Health & Wellbeing Locals, naloxone dispensing machines, the Victorian Pill Testing Service and the Medically Supervised Injecting Room.

If you experience toxic drug effects, or are present when someone has an unexpected reaction, seek help immediately by calling Triple Zero (000).
