Art of the Urban Pharaohs Exploring and promoting Egyptian art, film & culture in particular traditional and contemporary art that sprang forth in post-revolutionary Egypt .

"Urban Pharaohs" is a not for profit community organisation of volunteers who love Egypt, Egyptian art and culture. We came together in 2011 inspired by the bravery, creativity and talent of the people of Egypt .We aim to explore and promote the unique Egyptian traditional and urban art, poetry, music, dance and culture. Art is a universal language that transcends cultural barriers. Egypt’s modern

art and in particular the recent dance music and graffiti art from the Egyptian revolution is breath taking. Egypt is a 7000 year civilization that touched and influenced many others: the ancient Greeks, Romans, Ottoman’s, Jewish, Coptic and Islamic civilization. Art of the Urban Pharaoh is an Exhibition of Egyptian Graffiti Art that sprang forth in post revolutionary Egypt and was then censored and painted over. What they didn’t want you to see was captured and saved by photographic documentation. Together these forms of expressions tell a story of great significance to humanity, peaceful means of change in modern history, at the same time they provide an inspiring feast for the eye and soul. This was also the inspiration for our first cultural project
