The Lodge of the Golden Fleece wishes to formally acknowledge and congratulate our Honorary Member, RWBro. Garry Alan Runge OAM JP, Past Deputy Grand Master, on his successful application for, and imminent election to, the position of Deputy Grand Master for 2027. This congratulations is, of course, extended to Mrs. Sue Runge whose own contribution to the Craft and community is extensive and invaluable.
RWBro. Runge has held several senior positions in the Craft, including Senior Grand Warden and Grand Secretary, the latter of which qualified him to be recognised as an Honorary Fleece in accordance with our Book of Resolutions.
RWBro. Runge received the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in June 2019 for services to the community including, but not limited to:
- An extensive career with Victoria Police, including with the Office of Police Integrity
- Positions of Councillor and Mayor of Cardinia Shire
- Longstanding commitment as a Justice of the Peace including as President of the Royal Victorian Association of Honorary Justices (RVAHJ)
- His wide ranging contributions to Freemasonry in Victoria
We look forward to continuing our friendship and fellowship with Garry and Sue into the future as they embark on what will surely be a challenging, rewarding, and special journey.
