A BEACON of hope shines bright for the people and government of Bougainville as their journey toward self-determination draws near with the Joint Supervisory Body (JSB) meeting in Port Moresby this morning.

Prime Minister James Marape and Bougainville President Ishmael Toroama, as co-chairs of the JSB, met to finalise the Melanesian Framework and Joint Consultation Report.

They are expected to sign the JSB resolution after their meeting which will pave the way for the 2019 Bougainville Referendum results to be tabled in Parliament.
