Wild At Heart enables the transformative power of finding one's own voice, the worth of one's life and community through original music making.

Wild At Heart is a vibrant community of songwriters, singers, rappers, musicians and arts makers who experience visible and invisible disability, mental illness, neuro and gender diversity. We work with artists who experience mental illness, disability or other forms of disadvantage to achieve a more loving and just society. We'd love you to be involved. Please get in touch.

Come along to the next Band Incubator showcase gig on Monday June 29th.

Catch some never before seen bands, and reacquaint yourself with WAH favourites Gwot Lik from 5:30pm at Footscray's finest venue, Mamma Chen's. Entry is free.

Wild At Heart's Band Incubator program empowers people with disabilities, neurodivergence, mental & chronic illness to create music in a supportive band setting.

Open to all skill levels; Bands are formed based on current skill levels and what instrument/s participants are interested in playing. Led by an experienced musician (Band Mentor), bands work at their own pace, with flexible approaches to participation, access and support, creating space for every artist to grow and contribute.

In the month of June there are some great local gigs coming up featuring Wild At Heart artists.

On June 15th from 7pm, Local Sweetheart supports Signal Chain at the Northcote Social Club as part of the Social Sanctuary series of free shows on Monday nights.

On June 18th, Jimmy From Thornbury headlines a show at The Tote front bar with Feather Wilson (feat. special guest STEVE) supporting.
Entry is free and it kicks off at 6pm.

Looking for a supportive community of hip hop artists and creatives?

Wild at Heart’s Inkrewsive Hip Hop Collective brings together rappers, producers, dancers, and creatives with disability, neurodivergence, mental health conditions, or chronic illness to create and connect through hip hop.

We’re developing some awesome new opportunities for women, non-binary and gender diverse hip hop artists to build their skills, perform, and work alongside amazing female producers.

If you’re a dedicated hip hop artist and would like to expand your practice in a supportive and inclusive environment, we want to hear from you!

Inkrewsive meets on Thursdays from 10am–2pm, with individual mentoring sessions available throughout the week.

Songwriting is the heart in Wild At Heart.

We’ve got some of Melbourne’s best femme songwriters showing their techniques and teaching the craft in our latest songwriting series.

Our online Advanced Songwriting workshop on June 15th is led by Melbourne folk singer Hannah Cameron, who will lead participants through advanced approaches to lyric writing, melody development, and song structure, with a focus on creating songs that feel both original and authentic.

Jimmy from Thornbury brings his Naarm/Melbourne-based music-comedy show to The Tote Front Bar on June 18th — a sharp, satirical mix of music, parody, and genre-hopping chaos that playfully dissects music industry stereotypes and outsider experiences.

Expect a chaotic mix of music, comedy, characters, and sharp satire from one of Naarm’s most unpredictable live acts.

Joined by Feather Wilson, with special guest Steve.

6-8pm and FREE ENTRY.
