The Ballet Society, Victoria officially commenced its support of both organisations in February 1966 - and still continues 58 years later!

Did you know that Coco Chanel had a deep and influential relationship with Sergei Diaghilev’s revolutionary Ballets Russes in the early 20th century. She acted as a financial patron, a close friend to Diaghilev, and a costume designer, famously outfitting the cast for the 1924 athletic-themed production Le Train Bleu in chic, cutting-edge sportswear.

There is so much more to learn from both Leanne and David as they discuss their lives in the ballet world and in particular Leanne and her ballet journey. She is currently teaching at the Australian Ballet School which is an amazing experience for the students.

“ In Conversation with Leanne Benjamin OBE AM and David McAllister AC”

Did you know that Leanne Benjamin used to protect her toes by packing the inside of her pointe shoes with a particular type of absorbent paper towel, which became increasingly difficult to find as her career went on! Just one of many stories to share.

Both Leanne Benjamin and David McAllister have many stories to share about their lives as stars of the Ballet world.

Join us for an intimate evening of storytelling and learn more about these two incredible dancers.
