APS Spring Season sport continues this weekend.

Good luck to all Xavier athletes competing in Athletics and Water Polo.

If you’re looking for some red and black to cheer on this Saturday, our Athletics team takes on Scotch College and Caulfield Grammar at Mentone Athletics Track from 8.30am, while our Water Polo Firsts take on St Kevin’s at Caulfield Aquatic from 9.40am.

Closer to home, our Year 7 A & B, Year 8 B, Year 9, Year 10 and 2nd Water Polo teams will be in action at the Xavier pool throughout the morning, with the Year 8 A team heading to Haileybury for their fixture.

Congrats to the 177 students and 26 Coaches/Managers chosen to represent APS Sport against the AGSV on Friday 20 August.

The AGSV vs APS Winter Representative Sport program has been running since 1968 with a full range of sports offered from 2000. The Winter Rep Sport program rewards students who have performed consistently during the season by providing them with the opportunity to represent their Association, showcase their sporting skills and play / compete with students from their Association who are usually an opponent. Collectively, we congratulate all students who have been selected to represent their Association.

It was another great day of competition between both Associations. All students and staff are to be congratulated in the manner and spirit that all matches were conducted.

A highlight of the day was the Boys Badminton and Hockey Representative matches both were very close tightly fought and very skilful encounters!

Many matches were very close, and a few could have gone either way, with the end result of 6 wins & 1 draw out of 12 matches to APS Sport. The high level of skill displayed at all sports was impressive and provided a great spectacle for all in attendance.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank all staff who gave up their time as selectors and or coaches of the Rep teams - it was greatly appreciated by all.

Finally, special thanks to Caulfield Grammar School for hosting the Representative matches and to all the staff, students, curators and caterers that were involved in making the day such a success.

Another fantastic round of the 2026 Spring Season!🌸

Rounds 2 & 3 of the APS Sport and AGSV/APS Girls Water Polo competitions were very close & exciting games, and the Athletics action is well and truely in full swing! 💦👏

A huge well done to all our schools, students, coaches, officials and supporters for such a great round of Spring Sport - what an exciting start to the season! 🙌👏👏

Congrats to APS Sport & Haileybury Alumna Izzy Atkins (OH2023) who ran in the Brighton Beach Marathon last weekend - and was the 2nd placed female in her first ever marathon, with a time of 3.06!!
