Australia needs approximately three blood donations every minute, with patients needing whole blood, plasma (the liquid part), or platelets (the itty bitty bits that cause clotting) for various medical reasons including treatment for deep vein thrombosis, cancer, and severe burns.

On Tuesday The Basin Community House and Onemda jointly hosted a morning tea fundaraiser for The Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea.
Our Onemda cooking students made scones and slices, and some of our Community House staff and volunteers made cakes and sanwiches.
There was a lucky door prize, a raffle, and some tea inspired games.
We had a fantastic turn out of Onemda staff and family members, as well as members of The Basin Community House community.

While we are still doing a final tally of funds raised, we didn't want to waste any time in sharing some photos of the day, and once again saying a massive Thank You to everyone who supported this event.

Sometimes in the day to day hustle and bustle we might not take as much time as we should to acknowledge and thank the people who volunteer their time and effort to help us keep things running here at the community house.
