There’s something powerful about having a place where you can learn, create and belong. 🧵✨

At Thread Shed Armidale, women from Ezidi and Congolese communities come together to learn sewing and upcycling: turning secondhand textiles into fashion while building skills, confidence and connections along the way.

It’s a space to create, share, support one another and learn practical skills that can help women earn an income and build greater independence. 🧵❤️

To make the training accessible to everyone, P&G Purpose provided funding for Ezidi translation, helping participants take part fully in the program.

The training was coordinated by the Rotary Club of Armidale, bringing the community together around an opportunity to learn, connect and build new possibilities. 🤝

We’re proud to support projects like this: where learning a practical skill can become a step towards greater independence and new opportunities.

And we want to keep doing more.

9 years ago, P&G Paper Tubes started with one idea: give someone their first real job in Australia.

Are you passionate about bringing people together and creating meaningful impact?

P&G Purpose is looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to help recruit, onboard and support our volunteer community as we deliver employment and inclusion programs for refugees, asylum seekers and displaced Australians.

What you'll do:
- Coordinate and support volunteers
- Help grow our volunteer community
- Foster an engaging remote team culture
- Collaborate on impactful projects and storytelling

How many job applications did it take before someone finally said "yes"?

For many of us, it's a number we never think twice about.

For some refugees rebuilding their lives in Australia, it can take hundreds of applications before securing their first opportunity.

The challenge often isn't motivation or capability. Many arrive with valuable skills, qualifications and years of experience. Yet barriers like limited local networks, unfamiliar recruitment processes, overseas qualifications, and employer bias can make that first "yes" incredibly difficult.

At P&G Purpose, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to contribute. That's why we help remove practical barriers through employment pathways, skills training and targeted support, so talented people can build sustainable futures.

Today is World Refugee Day. 🌍

In Australia, refugees are 88% less likely to find employment than other migrants when they arrive. Five years later, that gap is still over 51%.

The barriers aren't visible.
A car that needs fixing to get to a job interview.
A licence that costs money they don't have.
Qualifications that no one recognises.

At P&G Purpose, we work to remove those barriers. Through no-interest loans, training funding and real jobs at our Paper Tubes factory in Melbourne, we create pathways for refugees, asylum seekers and displaced Australians who are ready to work. 🤝
