We are local residents and business people just like you who want to make a difference and help our neighbours who are in need. Our Committee of dedicated volunteers bring their extensive skills and local knowledge to the task of fundraising and also helping to identify cases where assistance is required most. We also enjoy the support of local businesses, schools and other organisations and work
alongside them with the common aim of helping our local community. Hawthorn Community Chest is a local independent registered charity with tax deductible status. We do not receive funds from government or council. We rely on your support and generosity and, with your help we can continue to help others in the future. Be part of your local community and help us to help others now. Make a tax-deductible donation by completing the donation form and returning it to Hawthorn Community Chest or via online donations (click on ‘Donate’) . Your donations will go directly to those who are most in need in your community. Think about making a bequest to further enhance the work of Hawthorn Community Chest. * a special desk for a child with cerebral palsy attending a local school
* respite services for a family with a severely disabled child
* reading machines for the blind
* rehabilitation programmes for those affected by stroke
* wheelchairs for the disabled
* funding for autism programmes to assist local children
* equipment for a local kindergarten
* specialised computer equipment and iPads for the disabled
