💙 Donate now and help more people living with brain injury feel less alone.

Nine years ago, Paul’s life changed in an instant.

Since sustaining a brain injury, his recovery journey has been filled with challenges, determination and hope. Today, Paul is sharing his story to show that a disability doesn’t define a person, and that with the right support, positivity and perseverance, it’s possible to rebuild confidence, independence and connection.

But for many people living with brain injury, one of the hardest parts of recovery is the isolation that follows.

Your tax-deductible donation to BrainLink can help create opportunities for people living with brain injury to connect with others, share their experiences and feel part of a community again.

Have you ever felt exhausted after a conversation, even though you haven't done anything physically demanding?

For many people living with brain injury, this experience is known as cognitive fatigue.

Cognitive fatigue is more than feeling tired. It can affect concentration, memory, communication and the ability to process information. Sometimes even everyday activities can require significant mental effort.

Understanding cognitive fatigue helps us better understand the hidden impacts of brain injury. 💙

June is National Aphasia Month.

Aphasia is a neurological disorder that can affect a person's ability to speak, understand, read and write. It is often caused by brain injury, stroke or other neurological conditions.

People living with aphasia still have thoughts, ideas, opinions and stories to share—they may simply communicate differently.

This month, we're raising awareness for more than 140,000 Australians living with aphasia. To learn more visit Australian Aphasia Association ❤

This National Volunteers Week, we would like to acknowledge the wonderful work done by Anthea Forbes who supports our Murrindindi Carers Group in the Alexandra region. Anthea is our lead volunteer in the region, the work she does provides a social outlet for carers who often face the challenge of caring for a loved one alone.

At BrainLink, we rely heavily on our volunteers to keep our regional groups active and engaged in our carer program. Social isolation is a prevalent issue for carers, which is only exacerbated in regional areas. This is why we need more volunteers like Andrea.
