Dr. Bassima Hawli is a self-made entrepreneur, a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, and a dedicated community leader who has called Melbourne’s Northern suburbs home for fifteen years. And has lived in Australia for more than 50 years.
She is the CEO and founder of Platinum Medical Imaging, where she ensures vital medical services are accessible to vulnerable groups, including asylum seekers, Palestinian refugees, and those facing financial hardship. Through her role as President of the Bassima Foundation, Dr. Hawli further supports her local community by providing free event spaces for the City of Hume. She also spearheads two key initiatives, Platinum Rewind and Bassima Platinum, which are focused on promoting health and education.
A champion of diversity and inclusion, Dr. Hawli has trained and employed individuals from a wide array of cultural backgrounds spanning the globe. A devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother, she is deeply driven by family values and a commitment to social justice. Her ultimate mission is to foster equality, inclusiveness, and diversity throughout the district of Calwell, ensuring every resident feels supported and valued.
