MAD Foundation

MAD Foundation Improving the lives of children and young people living with disability and facing significant hardship.

Established in 2001 by a group of lifelong friends and their families, the MAD Foundation aims to make a difference to hundreds of families every year by funding life-changing support equipment and services they otherwise could not afford. The fundraising efforts of MAD are centered around one not-to-be-missed event, the MAD Foundation Annual Ball, held every Melbourne Cup Eve at the Plaza Ballroo

m, Regent Theatre in Melbourne. The MAD Ball embodies the spirit of the MAD Foundation where people come together to have fun, celebrate with their families and friends and raise funds. MAD has raised in excess of $1.4 Million since 2001 and has helped many children and young people, their carers and families across Australia. MAD has funded programs through TLC for Kids, Reach, Whitelion and Western Chances. In recent years the majority of funding has been directed to specific cases identified through the Department of Developmental Medicine at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, plus other hospitals, disability programs and charities. The Department of Developmental Medicine provides care for children with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism spectrum disorders, acquired neurological disabilities, developmental delay and other developmental disabilities. These children require numerous pieces of equipment, therapy and respite over the course of their life. Over the years MAD has funded the purchase of wheelchairs, hoists and slings, therapeutic beds, bathroom modifications, car seats and home seating systems, walking frames, communication and voice output devices, second skin garments and rehabilitation sessions. MAD has also funded iPads, gym memberships, theratogs, and paid for personal care attendants. A volunteer run organisation, MAD leads by example and encourages other people and groups to make a difference in their community by coming together to help those less fortunate. With the help of sponsors, donors and supporters, MAD Foundation will continue to inspire, connect and Make A Difference.

2026 MAD Foundation T20 Cricket & Community Day, A Huge Success!

What an unforgettable day at the MAD Foundation’s annual T20 Cricket & Community Day! Held on Sunday, 8 February 2026 at Eric Raven Reserve, the event brought together families, friends and supporters for a brilliant day of cricket, connection and community spirit.

A huge thank you to our generous sponsors, for making the day possible, and to for bringing along an incredible group of AFL players who joined our amateur cricketers for a truly memorable match.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day, we can’t wait to do it all again next year! 🏏💙

577 kilometres in, 18-year-old .davies23 spoke with about his challenge of running 50 kilometres a day for 15 consecutive days in support of MAD.

In only a short period of time, he has raised over $10,000 in donations.

To see someone so young show this level of generosity, commitment and care for others is genuinely inspiring.

Tom, we love your attitude, and thank you for stepping up and for encouraging others by example.

Getting behind Tom means supporting him, and at the same time helping others.

We’ve put the link to his fundraiser in our bio. What a great example!

A record result at ! 🎉

Thanks to the remarkable generosity shown at the 25th anniversary MAD GALA, we achieved a record fundraising result — allowing MAD to continue helping families access the equipment and support they need when other pathways fall short.

The funds raised will go directly toward assisting children and young people living with disability and facing significant hardship with essential items such as mobility equipment, communication devices, feeding supports, and therapy.

To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered or championed MAD behind the scenes — thank you.

Your kindness is making a real difference for real families. ❤️
