🌺 ALL IN for Reconciliation ❤️

This month at Springvale Service for Children, we are proudly ALL IN for Reconciliation.

Across our services children, families and staff have come together to acknowledge National Sorry Day, Reconciliation Week, and our ongoing commitment to walking together with respect.

From creating purple hibiscus flowers in remembrance of the Stolen Generations, to contributing to our Sea of Hearts and sharing what reconciliation means to them, our community has embraced opportunities to learn, reflect and connect.

Families have also been busy creating lanterns in preparation for Light Night, celebrating culture, community and belonging as we continue our journey towards NAIDOC Week.

We believe Reconciliation is more than a week or a month, it is about building relationships, listening, learning and creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Together, we are ALL IN.
Together, we are learning.
Together, we are walking forward.

As we wrap up our Harmony Week reflections, we hear from Karla Wintle, Team Leader of Pedagogy.

Karla has brought this week together through a beautiful poem, inspired by Loris Malaguzzi — "When you enter the school in the morning, you carry with you pieces of your life, your happiness, your sadness, your hopes, your pleasures, the stresses from your life. You never come in an isolated way; you always come with pieces of the world attached to you." Loris Malaguzzi (1993)

Her words reflect the heart of Harmony Week — where those pieces come together to create a strong, connected and inclusive community.
