We are a vibrant physical and online hub where Australians with an interest in science and technology can meet to energetically share insights, trade ideas and discuss solutions to our society's important challenges. Established in 1854 and headquartered in its purpose-built Hall since 1859, the Society has played an important role in the scientific life of Melbourne and Victoria. The Society continues to convene the state’s science community with a vibrant program of public science talks and forums, STEM industry and career-development events, partner programs and a community activation agenda for suburban and regional Victoria through delivering the state’s Inspiring Australia program ("Inspiring Victoria") and National Science Week events.
