Urban Coup is an initiative of a group of Melbournians who share a vision of creating not just housing, but community. Urban Coup (Inc.)

with Nightingale and Architecture Architecture has developed an innovative co-housing project in Melbourne. The building has 29 households and is one of 6 developments which comprise Nightingale Village located in Brunswick. Residents moved into the new building mid-2022. n Coup's co-housing model starts with individual financial independence, with members owning their own dwelling. Extensive shared facilities and common spaces, both indoors and out, are intentionally designed to create a village-like environment in an urban setting. The use of shared facilities, passive solar design philosophy and choice of materials all contribute towards the goal of environmental sustainability.

Listening to this interview, there are so many similarities to our experiences at Urban Coup.
It grows through our shared intention to live together with our values, support one another, and create meaningful connections. Together, we share not just a place, but the moments that make it feel like home.

🎃 Our Ceres garden plots have produced an amazing pumpkin harvest! We've already enjoyed some delicious pumpkin shared meals with the Urban Coup, and there's plenty more pumpkin goodness to come in the months ahead. Get ready for soups, roasts, baking, and all things pumpkin! 🎃😊
