We are very pleased and proud to advise that the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) - Structural Engineering Institute has selected Professor Mahen Mahendran as the recipient of the 2025 Shortridge Hardesty Award.
Mahen has contributed significantly to NASH’s work on determining the FRL of walls and floors, his latest research into the performance of steel framed buildings in bushfire has extended the work already undertaken by NASH and he has contributed greatly to the development AS/NZS 4600 and more recently NASH Standards.
This prestigious lifetime achievement award is given annually to a world-leading researcher in the field of structural stability. Professor Mahendran is recognized for his outstanding contributions in applying fundamental research to practical engineering solutions in the fields of wind and fire engineering and for his substantial contributions to the codes and standards of structural steel.
This award underscores his dedication and significant impact on the global engineering community.
