This is the awesomely cute , discovered last year in a stream in Intag, northwestern Ecuador.

It was named by community vote to represent the ongoing resistance against transnational mining development in this mega biodiverse region.

The world knows about this tiny, vulnerable frog because Rainforest Information Centre funded the herpetologist who led the citizen science expedition which found it.

We're still funding citizen science projects, community reforestation initiatives and anti-mining mobilisations in Ecuador.

And we need help to support forests and communities more parts of the country, especially in the places where Indigenous peoples are bearing the brunt of mining expansion.

A vital five years' work lies ahead, protecting these places which are so important for biodiversity protection and climate change mitigation as the global polycrisis deepens.

Please donate to our crowdfund if you can!

***UPDATE *** we have just reached $3000 - over a quarter of the target! Please help us get to half! 🐸🐸🐸

Our fundraising for our Ecuador-based forest campaigns in 2024-25 is happening surely ... but ... very ... slowly! If you are a friend and supporter of our work protecting some of the world's most biodiverse (and rapidly disappearing) tropical forests, we really encourage you to put a few dollars in. Technically, if another 850 people put in $10, we would make target ... We're applying for funds from other sources than just crowdfunding, but we have limited volunteer hours to put in. We'd rather spend those hours on the ground helping the conservation and legal efforts of communities. If you don't know much about what we (and the amazing Melbourne Rainforest Action Group) do around exposing the harms of Australian mining interests in Ecuador, feel free to visit our webpage and have a read. Donate from there or in the second link below. πŸ‘‡πŸ½πŸŒ³πŸ¦₯πŸ¦‹πŸ†
