💜 Please welcome Nessa to the New Beginnings Animal Rescue family 💜

Nessa arrived into our care late last week.

She is a beautiful 4 year old Aussie Shepherd x Poodle.
She is quite weary of new people but has blossomed in care already.
Often playing when the humans aren’t watching.
Bonding with her new foster siblings, especially Lou and learning how to play! So far she has decided she likes shoes, tennis balls and of course Cardboard 🥰

We are looking forward to seeing her confidence grow and when the time is right finding Nessa her very own forever home.

🐕 Walkies 🐕

Miss Pip, Jasmine and Nala went for a beautiful walk today in the sunshine 🌞

Jasmine enjoyed exploring as always, Pip enjoyed soaking up the sun and meeting new friends and Nala had her first outing since her knee surgery.

Even though she spent most of the time being carried by her foster mum to ensure she didn't walk too much, she certainly enjoyed leaving the house for a little while ❤️

🆘 URGENT APPEAL 🆘

We are in a dire situation and need your help.

New Beginnings is a small rescue specialising in seniors, ex-breeding dogs and complex medical cases.
With these types of dogs come great expense. Most of our dogs cost us more in Veterinary care than we charge in adoption fees. Sometimes a lot more!

Over the years we have rehomed dogs and puppies needing a raft of specialist surgeries such as heart surgery, brain surgery, orthopedic surgery and more. We have never shied away from a complex case and we feel these animals are just as deserving of care and the chance to find their new beginning.

But all of this comes at a huge cost. Financial and emotional. Burnout is a real thing and for groups like ours with small volunteer numbers, that burden falls on only a couple of people to keep the wheels turning. The stress of that burden is taking its toll and we desperately need your help.

Our current situation finds us with an outstanding vet bill that needs to be reduced before we can take on any more animals. Our Vet Clinic has been amazing with their ongoing support of the work we do and we need to get this account down so that we can continue.

We need to raise $25k to pay down our bill. We understand that it is a struggle for people at the moment, hence why we rarely ask for donations but right now we have no choice.

💜 Levi's New Beginning 💜

From Levi's mums.

A little update on Levi, now lovingly known as George .
When we bought him home walking was really rough.
Being blind he would run around our legs as he could hear our footsteps , lots of tripping over on walks.

Well, 5 months later this is the result , happily walking anywhere right next to Frank, knowing his brother is guiding him the whole way .
George just blows me away with how adaptable he is , and learns a new way to do things .
He is the CUDDLIEST boy, still cheeky as ever , with the hugest personality.

Little George has a groom every 5 weeks and already loves our groomer Mark .

He's still sassy as can be, loves walking the lake each night , meeting regulars around the lake that all look forward to seeing him .

Seeing Levi, now George absolutely loving life and being so confident brings all of us at New Beginnings Animal Rescue so much joy.
We are so proud of him, he really has proven that no matter your disability, you can overcome and live a happy fulfilled life.

Miss Jasmine enjoyed a lovely run around a the park, even if it was more sniffing and exploring than running.

She then went to Bunnings with her mum and was more interested in exploring the aisles than saying hello to everyone.

What can we say, Jasmine is special and lives in her own world ❤️

We love that with Jasmine there is never a dull moment, and is certainly one of a kind.

💚 Hugo and Diago update 💚

The boys have recovered really well after their surgeries, and are feeling much better after their dentals.

They are doing well in foster care, getting lots of cuddles, pats and play.

Hugo and Diago will be going up for adoption soon.

🩺 Nala update 🩺

Miss Nala had her two week post op check yesterday!

Dr Danny was very pleased with Nala's progress!
She is healing beautifully and the patellas are feeling much stronger.
Nala had her stitches removed and was such a good girl.

Dr Danny would like her to stay in care for a few more weeks to continue her healing process and allow the pins in her left leg to stabilise further.

We are so happy with how well Miss Nala is healing, being her happy self and walking on both hind legs (no handstands anymore)

She is such a little trooper.
Nala's future looks so much brighter and pain free ✨️

Bonnie is a teeny-tiny little girl with the sass of a tiger! At just 1.4kg, she may be small enough to fit in your handbag, but she has a personality that fills the room. 😂💕

Bonnie loves nothing more than being on your lap, being carried around and, most importantly, being wherever you are. She is looking for a home where she can be included in her person’s life and ideally taken along on adventures wherever possible.

🐶 Bonnie is good with other dogs, although she can be a little bossy! Once she settles in, she’s happy to share a bed and enjoy some playtime with her canine friends.

Because of her tiny size, Bonnie is not suitable for a home with young children.

What Bonnie really wants is simple — a person who wants a tiny little shadow by their side all day, every day. ❤️
