NEPOMAK is a global organisation dedicated to the needs of young overseas Cypriots between the ages of 18 and 30 with branches in the following eight regions: UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Ze

aland, South Africa, Greece, Rest of Africa and Continental Europe. NEPOMAK Australia and New Zealand is the youth Federation of the Cypriot communities across our region, with the aim to bring together Cypriot youth from Australia and New Zealand. Membership is FREE and open to all young people of Cypriot descent between the ages of 18 and 30. Today marks 52 years since the Turkish invasion of Cyprus. NEPOMAK members from across Australia and NZ have come together to remember the events of 20 July 1974 and the impact on our communities that remains today.

A huge thank you to all of the communities who took part in bringing this video together. It’s a reminder that no matter where we are in Australia or NZ, our shared history continues to connect us.

More than 50 years later, Cyprus remains divided, making it as important as ever for younger generations to learn, remember and keep these stories alive.
