Polished Man

Polished Man Polished Man powers community-led action to create safe communities where women and children are thriving.

We create change by challenging rigid masculinity, amplifying positive role models, and backing grassroots innovation to break cycles of violence. Polished Man is a campaign dedicated to ending violence against women and children. It challenges everyone to paint one nail blue for the month of October to spark up important conversations and raise awareness and funds for trauma prevention and trauma recovery programs in Australia and around the world.

88% of parents are ready for a change. Are you?

Most Australian parents say they would vote for policies that support a "care-first" society including flexible working, affordable childcare, and equal paid parental leave.

Fathers want to be present, but workplace cultures and inadequate leave entitlements often stand in the way. Supporting men’s active engagement in caregiving doesn't just benefit dads, it benefits mothers, children, and our entire society.

Tough conversations matter.

This is the kind of content that deserves your attention, your time, and a place on your feed.

Two men. Loving dads. No ego. Just honest conversation about struggle and what it really takes to grow.

Not everyone with a microphone deserves the airtime. These guys do.

Did you know that Australian fathers who highly value their role as caregivers report significantly lower levels of psychological distress?

While 33% of fathers in a recent study reported suicidal thoughts in the past two weeks, those who felt deeply connected to their identity as a "nurturer" found it to be a critical protective factor for their mental health.

When we move past outdated gender expectations and make space for men to lean into care, we create stronger families, safer communities and better mental health for men too.

For firefighters like Mark Paton, running into fire is part of the job.

But for too many women in Australia, fire is something they're desperately trying to escape.

The reality is confronting.
- Women burned by a partner are three times more likely to die than those with accidental burns.
- In violence-related flame burns, petrol was the accelerant in 80% of cases, compared to 38% in accidental burns.

This is deliberate. Premeditated.

Arson, threats, and intimidation. Instilling fear that doesn't leave when the smoke clears.

A huge shoutout to the students from Years 9–12 at in Clontarf and NASCA who showed up, stood up, and painted a nail to take a stand against violence towards women and children.

Thank you Melville High School, and a special thanks to Director Blake for driving this initiative. This is what showing up looks like.

Imagine being told the problem you live every day doesn't actually exist.

30% of Australian men believe gender inequality isn't real. Coincidentally, they're the least likely to experience it.

Just because you don’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

It’s okay to admit that navigating the world as a young man right now is confusing. With the rise of the "manosphere" and divisive online algorithms, finding a path to healthy masculinity can feel like walking a tightrope.

As and .henshaw discuss on , the goal isn't for one side to "win", it’s about creating a world where everyone feels safe, heard, and supported.

Let’s keep the conversation open, critical, and kind. 💅💙

Construction sites are known for straight talk, thick skin and plenty of banter. But sometimes the line between “banter” and harm gets blurred.

In Australia, women in the building and construction industry report some of the highest rates of workplace sexual harassment of any sector. Changing that culture doesn’t happen through policies alone, it happens through everyday moments on site.

🔹The joke someone chooses not to laugh at.
🔹The comment someone decides to challenge.
🔹The mate who checks in instead of staying silent.

These small moments shape the culture of an industry. When apprentices, tradies and site leaders start having honest conversations about respect, vulnerability and accountability, something powerful happens, the same workplaces that have historically normalised harmful behaviour can become the places that challenge it.

Because the building industry doesn’t just shape skylines. It shapes culture too.
