๐Ÿ‘ Nothing beats a day on the farm!

The Cre8 and Craft crew headed out for a hands-on experience feeding week-old lambs and bottle feeding some of the newest arrivals. They also learned more about the important work that goes into caring for young lambs.

To top it all off, the day finished with a BBQ lunch at the Cre8 shed, cooked by Mark and Bryce.

A big thanks to everyone who made it such a great day!

Paddy's been busy in the workshop! ๐Ÿ”จ

For the past two and a half years, Paddy has been attending our Cre8 Junior program and working hard towards his goals.

From learning to identify tools on the shadow board to building confidence using basic power tools, he's made some fantastic progress.

One of Paddy's recent achievements is confidently identifying PPE, an important skill for working safely in the workshop.

Cre8 Junior is all about helping young people build practical skills, get creative, make friends and have fun while working towards their goals.

If your child would love to learn new skills in a supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you!

A weekend away, good company, and plenty to explore โ˜€๏ธ

Our Short-Term Respite group recently enjoyed a getaway to Mount Martha, spending time together cooking, relaxing, exploring the beach, visiting the Mornington Rose Garden, and enjoying some great food along the way.

Pictured here are Bethany and Josh making the most of the trip! It was a great chance to get out and about, spend time together, and make some happy memories.

What a fantastic evening celebrating the people who make VMCH such a special place ๐Ÿ’œ

This year, 357 team members reached significant service milestones, representing up to 35 years of dedication, compassion and commitment to the people we support.

At our 2026 Celebration of Commitment and Excellence Dinner, we also recognised our Values in Action winners, The Hon. Kevin Andrews AM Award finalists, our Phin Meere Future Leaders Fellowship recipient, and colleagues who continue to make a meaningful difference every day.

A special congratulations to Cat Hindmarsh, Team Leader Disability Support Services, who was named the 2026 recipient of The Hon. Kevin Andrews AM Award for her outstanding leadership, advocacy and commitment to others.

Congratulations also to Jessica Godfrey, our 2026 Phin Meere Future Leaders Fellowship recipient, recognised for her community-focused approach and dedication to improving outcomes for people with disability and their families.

Thank you to all those in attendance, including VMCH CEO Sonya Smart, Board Chairman Julien O'Connell AO, members of the VMCH Board and Executive team and members of the Service Awards organisational committee.

Shout out to Sarah, Andrew, Ruby and Sean from our Wantirna Community Connections group, who whipped up a batch of raspberry and white chocolate muffins this week. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿง

Cooking is always a popular activity amongst participants, bringing everyone together to learn new skills, try new recipes and enjoy something tasty at the end.

Great work, everyone! โœจ

โ˜•Where Is My Coffee?, our newest social enterprise cafe at Bendigo TAFE, has got off to a flying start since opening in May!

Cafรฉ Coordinator Jacinta described the first few weeks of trading as โ€œfantasticโ€.

โ€œThe support and feedback from TAFE staff and students has been really positive and it's lovely to see local residents finding us as well. We have a really supportive team, and itโ€™s wonderful to see how enthusiastic everyone is to create a unique learning environment.โ€

Trainee Craig is kicking goals too, Jacinta says.

โ€œCraig is absolutely loving it here, and fits in so well. He's very excited to be open to customers. He's been busy in the kitchen baking and learning how to make coffee. Our second trainee Andrew also started with us several weeks ago. He has been able to pick up coffee making really quickly and made me an amazing latte last Friday!โ€

๐Ÿ“ŒWhere Is My Coffee? Bendigo is located at Bendigo Tafe, Building E/154 Hargreaves St, Bendigo VIC 3550.

Drop in for a coffee if you're in the area! โ˜•
