What starts as an interest can grow into something much bigger.

When Jarred joined our 3D printing program in Ararat, he was keen to build on his existing skills in 3D modelling and programming. Today, he's designing practical products, learning new skills, contributing to the group's recycling initiative and helping shape the future of the program.

Created in response to participants' interests, the program gives people the opportunity to explore creativity, technology and even future business ideas, all while building confidence and connections with like-minded people.

As Jarred says, one of the best parts is the camaraderie and learning alongside others.

Recently, Melinda and Emma headed to Bunnings to pick up supplies for the Wantirna Community Connections recycling program, including earmuffs, gloves and tub lids. They also enjoyed lunch together at IKEA.

With more glass bottles being collected through the program, the new equipment will help support safe handling and sorting practices.

The girls were happy to lend a hand, volunteering to help source the items needed and contributing to a program that benefits the whole community. 💪

Recently, Melinda, Jenny and Emma enjoyed a trip to Burrinja Cultural Centre in Upwey. 🎨

Alongside taking in the beautiful exhibitions, they worked on important life skills including safe travel, handling money and confidently navigating new spaces.

Days like these are a great way to build independence, try new things and have some fun along the way. 😊

What an awesome week! 💜

VMCH's Disability Services Celebration Week brought our community together to celebrate the talents, achievements and contributions of the people we support.

Across our services, clients and residents shared what they love through creative workshops, café experiences, tours, demonstrations and plenty of opportunities to connect and have some fun.

A big thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make the week so special. It was a wonderful reminder of what our Disability Services community is all about: recognising ability, creating opportunities and supporting people to connect, contribute and thrive.

Sooo...last year's Disability Services Celebration Day was such a hit that this year we're making it a whole week! 🎉

From tomorrow until Friday, our disability services teams across Victoria will be opening their doors and showcasing all that's on offer through VMCH Disability Services.

With cake decorating, arts and crafts, cooking demonstrations, BBQs and more, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

"Starting my role as a School Crossing Supervisor is a proud moment for me."

Andrew is now in his fifth week working with Rural City of Wangaratta, helping local students get to and from school safely.

With support from the VMCH Employment Pathways team, Andrew secured the role and has quickly become a familiar face in the community. From chatting with students to greeting parents and grandparents, he's loving the chance to make a real difference each day.

Ryan has officially completed his first shift at Corpus Christi Aged Care Residence! 👏

Many of you might already recognise Ryan from Where Is My Coffee?, where he's built his skills and confidence while serving great coffee.

Now as part of our Job Skills program, Ryan is gaining hands-on experience across different areas of Corpus Christi, including food service, laundry, lifestyle and resident engagement.

Ryan is keen to learn as much as he can, with the goal of building the skills and experience needed for future employment opportunities.

We're excited to see where this journey takes him and grateful to the Corpus Christi team for supporting him every step of the way.

🐑 Nothing beats a day on the farm!

The Cre8 and Craft crew headed out for a hands-on experience feeding week-old lambs and bottle feeding some of the newest arrivals. They also learned more about the important work that goes into caring for young lambs.

To top it all off, the day finished with a BBQ lunch at the Cre8 shed, cooked by Mark and Bryce.

A big thanks to everyone who made it such a great day!
