🔥 There are places we visit — and then there is Makkah.
A land so sacred that Allah chose it for His Ancient House, made it the direction of our ṣalāh, and placed within the hearts of believers a longing to return.
📖 The Kaʿbah is not worshipped by Muslims — we worship Allah alone.
But we love and honour the Sacred House because Allah Himself honoured it. Wherever Muslims stand across the world, our bodies turn toward one Qiblah while our hearts worship one Lord.
📚 When the Prophet ﷺ was forced to leave Makkah, he said:
“By Allah, you are the best of Allah’s earth and the most beloved of Allah’s earth to Allah. Had I not been driven out of you, I would never have left.”
— Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī 3925 (ḥasan ṣaḥīḥ)
Allah also says:
“And [remember] when We made the House a place of return for the people and a place of security…”
— Qur’an 2:125
💭 “A place of return.”
How beautifully those words describe the relationship believers have with this sacred place.
Millions arrive from different nations, languages and cultures. They wear different clothes and live completely different lives.
Yet they gather around one House, facing one Qiblah, worshipping one Allah.
And for many who leave Makkah, something remarkable happens:
The body travels home — but the heart longs to return.
🌱 PRACTICAL ACTION
The next time you face the Qiblah for ṣalāh, pause for a moment before saying “Allāhu Akbar.”
Remember that millions of Muslims around the earth are turning toward the same Sacred House.
Then renew your intention to worship Allah alone with sincerity.
📌 TAKE-HOME MESSAGE
**WE DO NOT WORSHIP THE KAʿBAH.
WE WORSHIP THE LORD OF THE KAʿBAH.**
We love and honour His Sacred House because Allah honoured it — and it unites the Ummah upon one Qiblah and the worship of one Lord.
💬 If Allah has blessed you with visiting Makkah, what is the one thing your heart misses most?
🤲 May Allah preserve al-Masjid al-Ḥarām, keep our hearts attached to His worship, unite the Ummah upon truth, grant those who have never visited His Sacred House the opportunity to see it, and allow us all to return to it again and again in faith and safety.
Āmīn.
