Impact100 Melbourne

Impact100 Melbourne More info: http://www.impact100melbourne.org Impact100 Melbourne will raise at least $100,000 through at least 100 people. Donations are fully tax-deductible.

Impact100Melbourne is a collaborative giving group that will bring 100 passionate and diverse donors together to make a significant impact through local not-for-profits. That is you, your friends, family or colleagues each putting in $1,000 collectively or individually. This $100,000 is pooled to make one large impact grant to a Melbourne-based organisation that is working to support the issue we

have chosen to focus on. We will invite grant applications from across the not-for-profit sector who meet our criteria. These applications will be shortlisted to four organisations, who will then be invited to present to members at an annual event held in Melbourne each November.

As CEO of Sisterworks Inc., Impact100 Melbourne's 2016 grant recipient, Ifrin knows the true impact that collective giving can have on charitable organisations in Greater Melbourne.

Support from Impact100 Melbourne enabled SisterWorks to lease its first shop front and expand its operations. Since 2016, SisterWorks has opened three empowerment hubs, a new hospitality hub (café and catering), a new manufacturing hub, and supported more than 3,000 women from 105 nationalities into meaningful employment.

As we count down to Impact100 Melbourne’s Showcase and Selection Event on 19 November, we’re excited to introduce our fourth finalist: Servants Community Housing Limited.

Their Everyday Matters Project is a pioneering initiative providing safe, stable and affordable housing for people experiencing homelessness, trauma, mental illness or addiction.

By embedding a mental health occupational therapist in a rooming house, Servants will help residents build daily living skills, to help prevent tenancy breakdowns, and develop a replicable model for the broader sector.

Recently, members of the Impact100 Melbourne Advisory Committee and Greater Melbourne Foundation visited Servants Community Housing, meeting their dedicated team to learn how this model of care transforms lives through connection, stability and dignity.

The third of our four finalists we're featuring this week as we approach Impact100 Melbourne’s Showcase and Selection Event on 19 November is Maribyrnong and Moonee Valley LLEN - mmvllen.

Their Youth Employment Pathways Program (YEPP) 2.0, ‘Go Get It’, is a 12-month initiative supporting culturally diverse young people facing economic challenges in Melbourne’s west to overcome systemic barriers to work.

During a recent site visit, Impact100 members met Ramadan, a young man from Palestine who joined the pilot program in early 2024 with limited English language skills. Today, he’s a certified soccer coach with Soccer Australia and Soccer Victoria — a remarkable journey of transformation.

“Being named a finalist for Impact100 Melbourne is already a proud moment for us, and if we are fortunate enough to receive this grant, it will be a game-changer. It would allow us to expand YEPP 2.0, reach more young people, and deepen the partnerships that make this work so meaningful.” — Lorena Rios, Senior Project Officer, Youth Programs

The second finalist we’re spotlighting ahead of Impact100 Melbourne’s Showcase and Selection Event on 19 November, is Kensington Neighbourhood House.

The Kensington Neighbourhood Help Hub (KNHH) provides vital, culturally safe support to community members experiencing housing instability or homelessness — many from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

With the demolition of public housing towers in North Melbourne and Flemington, the 'hidden homeless' have come into focus — people relying on friends and family for accommodation. KNHH’s team of specialist volunteers, guided by a qualified social worker, are helping this priority cohort navigate housing and related support systems.

“The programs we establish are long-term and successful because they are meeting community’s needs. We put community first.” — Rebecca Smith, Manager, Kensington Neighbourhood House

In the lead-up to Impact100 Melbourne’s Showcase and Selection Event on 19 November, we’re introducing the four organisations in the running to receive the 2025 Impact100 Melbourne Grant, as voted by members on the evening.

First up is Ready Set Australia whose FutureFIT program supports young jobseekers in Western Melbourne to overcome barriers to employment through styling, clothing, and career coaching.

Imagine preparing for your first job interview — eager to make a good impression but without suitable clothing or guidance on how to present yourself to a potential employer.

Ready Set has partnered with Big Group Hug to provide practical support that builds confidence, dignity and hope for young people facing challenges securing meaningful employment.

The FutureFIT program will empower participants to step confidently into their employment journey.
