Hey Meeples!

It's just three weeks to go until our biggest R U OK 2 Play? event returns to Tatterson Park!

Just like last year there will be lots of games, learn to plays, prizes, Blood on the Clocktower, a store from Wizards Arcane Tabletop Tavern, 12 hours of playtime and we will have food on site, this time from the awesome Falafel off the Truck!

More importantly, it will again be a super chilled out space to come and meet new people and connect over a game or three in a beautiful, naturally lit space, and with our team on hand all day to help everyone find a game that works for them.

Ticket link is below - getting tickets in advance helps us when we need to pay the venue, and any excess will go straight to R U OK? to support the great work they do. Tickets will also be available on the door for a couple of dollars more.

A welcoming day of playing board games in a beautiful parkland location to have fun and support positive mental wellbeing and connection across our community.

Hi Meeples - and the wider Melbourne gaming community!

As part of Melbourne International Games Week this year there will be a wide spread of events right across metropolitan Melbourne!

As part of that the team at the beautiful Bunjil Place venue along with Casey Libraries are putting on a one day festival of all things gaming, and are looking for anyone that may be interested in getting involved. That's all things gaming from videogames, traditional games, card games, RPGs and of course board games.

We are likely to be down there teaching a few games (as we do). If you're interested in taking part in the event in any way there's an Expression of Interest form on their website so take a look!

(Btw if you're interested in teaching games with us, then just give us a shout instead!)

Our friends at the University of Melbourne are conducting a great piece of research into our experiences at board game events, and are looking for gamers to share their experiences!

Help us understand player experiences at board game events!

We want to understand what makes public board game events feel welcoming – or uncomfortable. We are looking for board game players who have attended these events to participate in a 90-minute interview about their experiences playing with new people or in unfamiliar groups.

Participants will receive a $30 Coles gift voucher as a thank you.

📍 In person at the University of Melbourne (Carlton campus) or online via Zoom.

MeepleCon 2026 tickets are live! Link in comments!

With a new, and bigger venue we're taking the opportunity to join forces with our fellow organisers and community legends in the area to create Melbourne's biggest community-run games convention. So on behalf of Melbourne Meeples, Ringwood Social Games, Knox Board Game Club, St Paul's Games Night and Mornington Dungeons & Dragons club we invite you to come and join the party!

MeepleCon 2026 will be at the Box Hill Town Hall from the 4th to 6th December. The early bird price for three-day passes is available until September 1st, and members should check their mailboxes for their MeepleCon discount codes.
