The Susannah Blaxill Award at the current Gold Coast Exhibition has been won by Janet Matthews for her Eucalyptus macrocarpa.

A big congratulations to Janet Matthews, winning two major awards at BASA’s exhibition, Flora: Nature’s Gift, at the Red Wall Gallery, Broadbeach, Queensland, open until 30 July 2026.
Her Eucalyptus macrocarpa, ‘Lots of Bees’, won both Best Overall and the Friends of the Gold Coast Botanic Gardens Eucalyptus Award.

One week to go!
BASA’s exhibition opens Sunday 5 July and runs until 30 July 2026.
‘Flora: Nature’s Gift’ is being held at the Royal QLD Art Society ‘Red Wall’ Gallery at Broadbeach.
The exhibition is also sponsored by Native Plants QLD and Friends of the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens, with special prizes for eucalyptus and native plants.
There will also be classes, walks and tours offered during the exhibition period.
