Our Stroke Support Centres are a non-clinical service model, focused on community inclusion and social & economic participation. We support stroke survivors to re-establish control over their lives and build transitions back into their community and workplaces. We provide pathways for stroke survivors and carers, assisting them to connect with peers, and facilitating them with self-led recovery, independent living skills, social inclusion, links with community services and vocational goals.

Our Story

Vision: A life after stroke for everyone.

Mission: Provide every stroke survivor and carer access to the information and support services they need to re-engage with their community.

Impact: Provision of community-based support services in every region of Victoria to aid in recovery post clinical care, with documented measurable outcomes.

The Stroke Association of Victoria (SAV) is driving an Australian-first program to support the thousands of people living with the effects of stroke in Victoria (~150,000 stroke survivors). We aim to provide every stroke survivor and carer access to the information, peer support and recovery activities they need to re-engage with their community.
