𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀

More than 70,000 different runners and walkers have recorded a finish at an Albert Melbourne parkrun over its 15-year history - 70,273 to be precise, a number boosted by 443 first timers this week.

In event no. 710 there were 1,114 finishers and 46 marvelous volunteers. Well done to everyone. There were 443 first timers comprising 380 first-time visitors from other parkruns and 63 finishers completing their first-ever parkrun. 68 people recorded personal bests. Representatives of 120 different clubs took part.

Congratulations to Alexandra MERRETT on volunteering 100 times since first coming to parkrun in 2013. Alexandra has volunteered in 14 different roles with barcode scanning, tail walker, token sorting and marshal being the most prominent. She volunteers once for every 2 parkruns completed. Thank you Alexandra for your huge contribution to Albert Melbourne parkrun.

Congratulations to Samantha YOUNG on volunteering for the 25th time. Samantha has volunteered in 8 different roles with barcode scanning being the most prolific. Samantha volunteers once for every 4 parkruns completed. Thank you Samantha for your valuable contribution to Albert Melbourne parkrun.

Congratulations to David SUDER who achieved the 400 parkrun milestone.

Congratulations to Benjamin FENLON, Alejandro PEDRAZA CUBIDES, Jo-Anne HICKS, Muneeb Habib KHAN and Bradley PATTRICK who achieved the 50 parkrun milestone.

parkrun volunteers will be out on the course cheering participants in the full and half marathons tomorrow. The parkrun cheersquad will be located on the road behind the normal parkrun finish area (Coot Picnic Area), across the road from MSAC. This will be about 32km for the full marathon and 11km for the half marathon.

If you’d like to join the cheersquad, it’s accessible by both the #12 and #96 trams.
