The Sikhi Camp over this weekend had an amazing response.
Some learning points we observed during this camp:
- A child did Simran on Vaja when they had never learnt Vaja before. This was from watching other children their age.
- Children practiced doing Gurbani Kanth, a child was able to memorise 3 Ashtpadis of Sukhmani Sahib in 1 hour and is now excited and motivated to continue practicing in their own time.
- We had Kaurs jump in to do Jodhi Sewa.
- Langer sewa was handled by youth and kids.
- All kids were so motivated and excited that they were up for Amritvela at 3:30, even though we were meant to start at 4am. The kids were there before the Sewadaars.
- Kids showed deep understanding of Sikh values and were able to present on Shaheeds in a very engaging way.
Overall, all the Sewadaars at this camp were able to say they didn't teach as much as they learnt from the kids and parents who attended.
