Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC) is formed as the first step in bringing the various non-resident Indians of the state under one umbrella, came into being on 30.01.2010 at Thiruvanathapuram with support from the Congress' Kerala unit. The main object of the organization shall be to work for social economic welfare of Keralites abroad. Maintenance of friendly relation with the nationals of the foreign countries. Projecting the image of India and Kerala in the interest of proper understanding and doing all such acts that are conducive to the welfare of the Indian nationals abroad who are committed to the ideological views of Indian National Congress. Helping the Indians in distress and organize cultural activities to entertain them, especially Malayalees.

മെൽബൺ: ഇന്ത്യൻ ഓവർസീസ് കോൺഗ്രസ് (IOC) ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയുടെ പുതിയ നാഷണൽ ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയായി അഫ്സൽ കാദറിനെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതായി IOC നാഷണൽ പ്രസിഡന്റ് മനോജ് ഷിയോറൻ അറിയിച്ചു. ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയിലെ കോൺഗ്രസ് പാർട്ടിയുടെ വളർച്ചയ്ക്കായി ഗ്ലോബൽ ചെയർമാൻ സാം പിത്രോഡയുടെയും IOC ഇൻചാർജ് ഡോ. ആരതി കൃഷ്ണയുടെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ടീമിൽ അഫ്സൽ കാദർ പ്രവർത്തിക്കും.

2022-ൽ IOC ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയുടെ കേരള ചാപ്റ്റർ പ്രസിഡന്റായും 2019-ൽ വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റായും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള അഫ്സൽ കാദർ, 2018 മുതൽ മെൽബണിലെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ മസ്ജിദായ മെൽബൺ ഗ്രാൻഡ് മോസ്‌കിന്റെ (MGM) ഡയറക്ടറും സെക്രട്ടറിയുമായി സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചുവരുന്നു.
ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയയിൽ ആദ്യമായി സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന, കേരള മാപ്പിള കലയുടെ മഹോത്സവമായ ഇശൽ നിലാവ് 2025-ന്റെ പ്രധാന സംഘാടകരിൽ ഒരാൾ കൂടിയാണ് അഫ്സൽ കാദർ.
2014 മുതൽ ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ ലേബർ പാർട്ടി (വെരിബീ ബ്രാഞ്ച്) അംഗമായ അദ്ദേഹം, മുൻപ് ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയൻ മലയാളി ഇസ്ലാമിക് അസോസിയേഷന്റെ (AMIA) ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയായും അഡിലെയ്ഡ് മെട്രോപൊളിറ്റൻ മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷന്റെ (AMMA) ട്രഷററായും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
കൂടാതെ മലയാളി അസോസിയേഷൻ ഓഫ് വിക്ടോറിയ (MAV) എക്സിക്യൂട്ടീവ് മെമ്പറായും പ്രവർത്തിച്ച അഫ്സൽ കാദർ, കേരള സ്റ്റുഡന്റ്സ് യൂണിയൻ (KSU) വഴിയാണ് രാഷ്ട്രീയ പ്രവർത്തനം ആരംഭിച്ചത്. പൊന്നാനി എം.ഇ.എസ്. കോളേജിലെ കോളേജ് യൂണിയൻ സെക്രട്ടറി (ഫൈൻ ആർട്സ്) ആയിട്ടും അദ്ദേഹം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.
വ്യത്യസ്ത സാമൂഹിക സംഘടനകളിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചുള്ള അനുഭവസമ്പത്തുള്ള അഫ്സൽ കാദറിന്റെ സേവനം മെൽബണിലെ എല്ലാ ഇന്ത്യൻ വംശജർക്കും പ്രയോജനകരമാകുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് മെഡിക്കൽ എജ്യൂക്കേഷൻ ഗാന്ധിനറിലെ മുൻ KSU യൂണിറ്റ് പ്രസിഡൻ്റ് വിശാഖ് രവീന്ദ്രൻ (32) H1N1 ബാധിച്ച് അതീവ ഗുരുതര അവസ്ഥയിൽ ബാംഗ്ലൂരിലെ ഫോട്ടിസ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ കഴിയുകയാണ്.

2012-13 കാലയളവിൽ ഫിസിയോതെറാപ്പി ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെൻ്റ് റിപ്രസൻ്റെറ്റീവ് ആയും 2013-14 കാലയളവിൽ ആർട്സ് ക്ലബ് സെക്രട്ടറി ആയും 2014-15 കാലയളവിൽ യൂണിയൻ ജനറൽ സെക്രട്ടറി ആയും 2015 ൽ KSU യൂണിറ്റ് പ്രസിഡൻ്റ് ആയും ചുമതലകൾ വഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.
പഠനത്തിനു ശേഷം ജോലിയോടൊപ്പം പ്രാദേശികമായും നിലവിൽ കർണാടകയിലെ മലയാളി കോൺഗ്രസ് സംഘടനയിലും പ്രവർത്തിച്ച് വരികയായിരുന്നു.
എരുമേലി പഞ്ചായത്ത് വെട്ടാണിയിൽ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരുമ്പൂന്നിക്കര ഗിരിനഗറിൽ രവീന്ദ്രൻ്റെ മകനാണ്.
നിലവിൽ ബാംഗ്ലൂരിൽ ഫിസിയോതെറാപ്പിസ്റ് ആയി ജോലി ചെയ്ത് വരികെ ഒരാഴ്ച മുൻപ് H1N1 പിടിപെടുകയും അണുബാധ ആന്തരീക അവയവങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവർത്തനത്തെ സാരമായി ബാധിച്ചു അത്യാസന്ന നിലയിൽ ബാംഗ്ലൂരിലെ ഫൊട്ടിസ് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ തീവ്രപരിചരണ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ ചികിത്സയിലാണ്. ഡയലിസിൻ്റെയും വെൻ്റിലേറ്ററിൻ്റെയും സഹായത്തോടെയാണ് ജീവൻ നിലനിർത്തി പോകുന്നത്.
ചികിത്സക്കായി നിലവിൽ ഓരോ ദിവസവും അഞ്ച് ലക്ഷത്തോളം രൂപ ചിലവാകുന്നു. സാമ്പത്തികമായി വളരെ പിന്നോക്കാവസ്ഥയിലുള്ള കുടുംബമാണ് വിശാഖിൻ്റേത്. ആയതിനാൽ സുമനസുകളുടെ കാരുണ്യം കൊണ്ട് മാത്രമാണ് ചികിത്സ മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുന്നത്.
വിശാഖിൻ്റെ ജീവൻ രക്ഷിക്കാനായി താങ്കളെ കൊണ്ട് കഴിയുന്ന തുക സംഭാവനയായി നൽകി ഈ ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിൽ പങ്കാളിയാകണമെന്ന് വിനീതമായി അഭ്യത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.
