SPELD Victoria is the peak body for Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) in Victoria. For 53 years, we have worked to serve the estimated 10-15% of Victorians with Specific Learning Disorders (like Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and Dysgraphia). Our vision is that Victoria is a place where SLDs are widely understood and are no longer a barrier to individuals achieving their full learning potential. We work

with our members, government, schools and the community to make this vision a reality for all Victorians with SLDs

📚Word Origins Manuals - Now Available for Order

Suitable for use in both whole-class and intervention settings, the Word Origins Level 1 manual includes complete lesson plans, resources, and assessment materials for this evidence-informed spelling and word study program. The Level 1 program has been reprinted to match the four-volume format of the newly released Level 2 program.

As a cumulative program, Word Origins Level 2 builds directly on the vocabulary and morphological knowledge developed in Level 1. Teachers currently delivering the program comment on its ease of use, effectiveness, and the way students are hooked on the lesson content.

All students - regardless of age or year level - should, ideally, complete Level 1 before progressing to Level 2.

It is strongly recommended to attend the Word Origins workshop, even if you have purchased the manual, as it provides essential guidance to support effective implementation of the program.
