SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Adi Alani Tuivucilevu, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

Adi Alani Tuivucilevu is a marine biologist who is passionate about the realisation of women’s empowerment within the fisheries sector. She started off her career working in rural and maritime communities around Fiji under the Cakaudrove Provincial Council and later as a marine researcher for Global Vision International. She is currently the Network Coordinator for the Women in Fisheries Network - Fiji (WiFN-Fiji). As the coordinator she personally oversees the implementation of projects on the ground and in particular for rural fisheries communities, ensuring that women’s roles in the care economy and the challenges they face in accessing markets for their products become key pillars of work for WiFN-Fiji.

In 2023, she was part of the inaugural cohort of the U.S.–Pacific Institute for Rising Leaders Fellowship program at Johns Hopkins University in Washington announced by the White House in conjunction with the first ever U.S.–Pacific Island Country Summit. She is an Obama Foundation Scholar being a recipient of the prestigious Obama Scholars Foundation scholarship under the Obama Foundation at Columbia University graduating in 2025. Due to her leadership and innovative approaches to evidence-based programming the WiFN-Fiji has been able to mobilise resources and take the organisation to a new level of growth, visibility and recognition as the premier non government organisation representing the rights, interests and concerns for women in fisheries in Fiji.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Alumita Talei Sekinairai, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

Alumita is a Pacific Ocean governance researcher and conservation leader, currently pursuing a PhD in Politics and International Affairs at the University of the South Pacific under USPRAFP. Her research is titled “Genealogy of Pacific Ocean Governance: Cultural Conservation and Sustainable Management.”

Alumita has worked across marine conservation, maritime affairs and international policy, contributing to global negotiations and initiatives that advance inclusive, community-led conservation and sustainable ocean futures for the Pacific. She is also a Co-Founder of iTaukei Women in Conservation.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Jale Samuwai, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

Jale is a manager on the CFAN Program at RMI, where he serves as the project leader responsible for the coordination of CFAN’s portfolio of Pacific countries and partners.

Prior to joining RMI, Jale was a climate change advisor for the Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries, a regional organisation based in the Solomon Islands. He was also a resilience finance analyst for the World Bank Pacific Resilience Project based at Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat. Jale also served as the climate change advisor for Oxfam in the Pacific.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Noelene Nabulivou, Fiji Feminist Activist, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

For over 40 years, Noelene has been a feminist organiser, activist, analyst, advocate, trainer and strategist in Fiji/Pacific and the majority world. She is an openly le***an Fijian iTaukei and Pacific woman in a region where the PIDSOGIESC+ community continues to face discrimination. She works for justice for all Pacific islanders, especially women and gender diverse people, and people in urban poor, rural, remote and maritime areas (RRM+).

Noelene is known for the political care, sharpness and passion of her work on gender and sexuality, socio-economic, ecological and climate justice. She is the Co-Executive Director of DIVA for Equality, a grassroots-led network in Fiji. She is also convenor of the global campaign, Pacific Feminists Defending the Living Planet; Adviser of Pacific Islands Feminist Alliance for Climate Justice (PIFA4CJ); and Co-Convenor, Pacific LBQ Working Group, among others. She is the past Convenor of the Pacific Feminists SRHR Coalition and holds many other movement roles.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Lavetanalagi Seru, a longtime Pacific Climate Justice Activist, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

Lavetanalagi is also the Board Chair of Pacific Islands Climate Action Network - PICAN and has over a decade of experience across youth development, climate change, gender, human rights, and inclusive disaster risk reduction.

He has extensive experience in climate policy, campaigning, movement building, strategy development and grant making, he currently works with Global Greengrants Fund and co-founded the Alliance for Future Generations – Fiji, one of Fiji’s largest youth networks on sustainable development. He remains actively engaged with climate and civil society movements across the Pacific and globally.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that Rev James Bhagwan, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

Known as the “Paddling Reverend,” Rev. James Bhagwan is Fiji-based General Secretary of the Pacific Conference of Churches, an ordained Methodist minister, ocean advocate and prominent climate-justice campaigner. He brings together Indigenous wisdom, ecological stewardship and faith to frame the climate crisis not only as an environmental emergency, but as a spiritual, cultural and existential challenge.

His voice gives powerful expression to the Pacific’s moral leadership, resilience and vision on the global stage. We look forward to hearing Rev. Bhagwan share his perspectives and experience on the day.

COLLABORATIVE PARTNER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Pacific Conference of Churches, for our upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, Fiji on 16 October 2026 and online from 23 October.

Formed in 1961 by key Pacific church figures, the Pacific Conference of Churches was a regional response to a changing world and independence. Church Leaders from Dutch Papua in the West to Samoa in the East gathered to form this regional ecumenical organisation out of former mission churches. The inaugural PCC Assembly was held at Lifou in Kanaky (New Caledonia) in 1966. The PCC works closely with the Pasifika Communities University (formerly known as the Pacific Theological College) which opened in 1966 and the South Pacific Association of Theological Schools, founded in 1969.

We look forward to collaborating with Pacific Conference of Churches for this summit and thank them for their support!

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT | We are thrilled to announce that George Nacewa, will be joining us at the upcoming Blue Pacific Climate Leadership Summit at the Novotel Suva, Lami Bay, on 16 October 2026, with the event content also available via our interactive summit platform from 23 October.

George Nacewa is the Pacific Organizer at 350 Pacific. He works with a team of four that looks after 18 teams in the Pacific region and the Diaspora, including Australia, New Zealand and the US.

Prior to working at 350 Pacific, he worked for organisations like Interfaith Search Fiji, Dialogue Fiji, Citizens’ Constitutional Forum and the United Nations Development Fund and for the longest time has given his time to serving others through volunteering.

We look forward to hearing George share his perspectives and experience on the day.
