Meet Our Keynote Speakers!
We’re thrilled to announce two inspiring keynote speakers headlining this year’s BioMed Link Conference, leaders in science, innovation, and impact.
Professor Andrea O’Connor, PhD, FIChemE, FBSE
Shanahan Chair in Frontier Medical Solutions and Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor at the University of Melbourne and the Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery.
Prof. O’Connor leads pioneering work in biomaterials design, antimicrobial nanomaterials, and tissue engineering, driving translational research that bridges science and clinical need. A Fulbright Scholar and Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering, she’s authored over 120 journal papers and mentors the next generation of biomedical innovators.
Aayushi Khillan, MBBS
Aayushi Khillan is completing a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne and a concurrent PhD in paediatric neurodisability research at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute.
Her research explores chronic pain mechanisms in young people with cerebral palsy, aiming to transform treatment and quality of life.
Beyond the lab, Khillan is the founder of Body Buddies, a social enterprise raising health awareness through creativity, and has been recognised as Young Melburnian of the Year and one of Australia’s 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian Australians.
Their work reflects the spirit of BioMed Link, where discovery meets purpose and science drives real-world change.
Each of our Keynote speakers will have a Q & A session after their talk, where you will have the opportunity to ask them questions about their journey, research and advice for whatever stage of career you are at.
BioMed Link Tuesday, 25th November 2025 at Bio21 Institute.
