The ONE in 5000 Foundation has been established as a charity organisation to provide assistance and support to anyone affected by the congenital condition ANORECTAL MALFORMATION, also known as IMPERFORATE A**S which has an incidence rate of 1:5000 births. It’s very reassuring to recognised as a “Pediatric Surgical Emergency” that requires action in the first 48 hours of birth by the Pediatric Surgery Journal global organisation. Hopefully critical information like this will prevent any child born with IA/ARM being missed or misdiagnosed which unfortunately still occurs.🧡💙

The ONE in 5000 Foundation is proud to celebrate today, 20th March, as the inaugural “International Anorectal Malformations Day (ARM).

This important milestone has been made possible through the collaboration of IA/ARM patient organisations and associations across the globe - coming together to support children, families and adults affected by IA/ARM. Today reflects the strength, unity, and shared purpose of our global community.

We would especially like to acknowledge “AMAR Argentina” for initiating this collaboration and helping bring this day to life.
